On Thursday November 18th was debated and passed in the House of Congress the legislative initiative amending Act No. 27785 granting punitive powers to the Comptroller General of the Republic, against officials and employees having responsibility for acts of corruption.

Congressman José Vega Antonio , chairman of the Audit Commission and the Comptroller, said this is a big step in the fight against corruption.

worth mentioning that despite the persistent opposition, the law is already passed and the political will to regulate for the people, is captured clearly. Congressman José Vega Antonio (National General Secretary UPP) is leading the fight today and we hope many more will join it.
